Doodle Doo

So, I've mentioned before that I'm part of a club at Memory Book Inspirations called the Savvy Scrappers Club. Every week a new challenge is posted and you get $1 store credit for each layout you finish. Then on top of that they offer special quarterly challenges that are worth $3 store credit. This quarter's challenge was doodling. I did 2 layouts so that's $6 to spend in the store. Gotta LOVE it!

I made the the little square guys just to have some fun silly doodled embellishments for this page but Braden promptly informed me they were pop-tarts. You know, he was so right. I just saw a pop-tart commerical and they do look like pop-tarts. Oh well it is what it is.......It's a pop-tart Disney page. (hee hee hee)

The bottom layout is some of the pictures from the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Lot. I hate this attraction. It is pure STRESS! Kids running everywhere.....places adults can't follow..... 2 entrances..... I hate it! I'm stressed out the whole time we are there. Of course my kids think it is the coolest thing at Hollywood studios. It will be more enjoyable in about 2 years when I don't have to worry about Ashlyn being pushed down the stairs of the giant tree stump or one of them falling down the film slide instead of sliding down it. I'm stressed out now just thinking about it!

Here's the link if you want to check out the club. New members can join anytime to start earning credit. http://memorybookinspirations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=105&t=3842

An apple a day...

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. I wish Braden had decided that he liked apples a few years ago. Today is the last doctor appointment in this series. He had appointments Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and today. Thursday appointment resulted in another appointment and I'm sure today will result in 2 more appointments.

Braden has always been difficult to understand. We've known that he was going to need some kind of speech therapy. His pre-school never "noticed" the problems so we had to pursue it on our own. It's taken about 6 months to get to this point and we now know that Braden has mild hearing lost in both ears, fluid in his ear, and his speech is severely delayed! I figure today the ENT doctor will refer us to another doctor for tubes.

I feel like I let him down a little. He never complained about his ears hurting or ringing or anything but he's had problems with them for years apparently. Now he's lost some of his hearing because I didn't take him to the doctor earlier. I just feel bad and responsible.

I'm not at all worried about the tubes though. It seems everyone knows someone that has had tubes. The only thing that is going to be tough is I've heard Braden won't be able to going swimming. That will be tough since we have already starting swimming and going to the beach.

The layout above is a really old one. I think I made it about 3 years ago. I just love his little smile in the pic. Looking at old pages reminds me why I scrap (beside just lovin' the process). When I look at this layout, I'm there again. I'm back to watching Beauty and the Beast 3 or 4 times a day. I'm back to making waffles for breakfast everyday, and ramen noodles for lunch everyday. I take back all those wishes for him to grow!

Just a few new layouts.

Here's just a few layouts I've done lately : Easter and My 27th birthday. I'm not doing so well with getting caught up. I can't seem to get motivated to work on them. I really need to because I have so many Disney pics waiting to be scrapped and we are going back this weekend. I've been thinking a lot about my pages and the sheer number of them. I love making my pages but I'm already on my 4th (over stuffed) album for Braden and he's only 5! I can't imagine him wanting 50 albums of himself after I'm gone. I'm trying to figure out how to still scrap our lives on fewer pages. Any suggestions?

Housing news......... There isn't any new news. We have picked out a lot that is just a few blocks from the charter school Braden will be attending next year. We have a couple of weeks before we sign the contract so that lot may be snatched up. If so I hope they add a new one in the same area. It would be nice to have Mike drop him off on the way to work and then Ash and I could walk over to pick him up in the afternoon.

ATTENTION ALETA, BRENDA, AND GQZMOMMY --- I mailed out your PIF's today!

NSD Crop

National Scrapbooking Day is coming up!!! I don't think my LSS is doing anything to celebrate. (GASP!!!) Maybe I looked at their calendar wrong because I just can't imagine a LSS not doing something for NSD.

I'm glad I have my online scappy friends to keep me inspired and busy. Over at MBI we are going to have an all day cyber crop. I'm excited about that. I'm going to post my challenge really early for all those who up early with excitement. Maybe something with a coffee twist? I need some good challenges to get me going. I'm scrappin' so slow this week. I need to get kicked back into gear. I've been working on the same simple layout for like 4 days. :(

Tonya, Aleta, and Brenda, I have your PIFS all packed up. I'll try to get them into the mail tomorrow.

My new house!

Here's a picture of the house we are going to build. I'm not diggin' the color of this one. I'll have to pick a different color. Maybe a mossy green or a buttery yellow or a .....................

I'm going to get really caught up in paint choices. I've been living with white walls for 3 years now so I'm excited to have some freedom when it comes to color. Now I just have to wait 9 months to start playing. It's going to be a long summer.

Great News!!!

We have been watching the housing market stumble here in Florida over the past year. We currently rent a fantastic house but we've been checking out the MLS for a few months. We've even visited the model homes the past few weekends to check things out. I would really love to live in a community but the houses in the communities are just out of our price range. So I have sadly given up on the community and accepted that we are going to be living farther from the businesses than I would prefer.

So we found a few house that we really really like. One has beautiful tile and granite but is small. The second house is huge over 2000 square feet but has cheap floors and counters. We've decided that size is more important than the furnishing right now. We can (and hopefully will )upgrade the floors and counter tops later on.

And.... MIKE JUST CALLED ME TO LET ME KNOW THAT WE ARE PRE-APROVED FOR THE LOAN!!!! I guess we're building a new house! How exciting and totally scary! I have to go look over the option list again.

Just some new pages....

Here's a few pages I made today. I love the paper in the Woody page. It's from Studio 8 which I had never heard of before. I love finding new stuff.

I made this one with the Memory Book Inspirations Kit. The only thing I added was the white photo corners and the white cardstock for the title. Oh the title!!! I used a Fiskar template (you know the ones for the shape cutter) that I bought at Joann's for ...... $0.50!!!! And there were 2 different templates in each package. I bought 5 packages. :) I wish I always found those awesome deals.

O happy day!

Today is very much a happy day. My voice has returned and I'm feeling pretty good. My hubby and daughter are still a little yucky but it's much easier to take care of them when I'm feeling better. KWIM?

I'm sending a little PIF out to Aleta, gqsmommy, and Brenda. You all don't have to offer a PIF you don't want to. I just wanted to send a little something to say thank you for reading my blog! :) If I don't have you're addy then I'll send you a PM over at MBI.

Thank everyone who said a little prayer for my grandpa. He came home yesterday. He didn't loose any movement in his limbs. He's only having problems with some pronunciation. My hubby gave me the big long medical title ( show off!!! ) but I don't remember it. Thanks again for the prayers and well wishes.

altered envie

So Braden has been home for 2 days now with the yucky stuff I have. I can tell he's getting bored so this morning I decided we would do a little Mommy & Me project. Here is one of the projects we did. We took some standard white envies and added some paint, paper, and LOTS of glue to make these little guys.

The lion is my favorite. He let me draw the mouth on that one. Now he wants to write notes for them and give them to his friends at school. I want to keep them! At least I want to keep the lion. He's cute. I wish I had some kind of zoo project because I would love to have him make a bunch of these and then use them for a journaling pocket.

He has special plans for the dog envie. He wants to write a "love" note to a little girl in his class. I guess he has his first crush!

Say a little prayer!

I just found out that my grandfather had a stroke either last night or sometime today. My grandmother called my mother at 6 am this morning because she thought he had a stroke. He apparently was having problems communicating. He of course refused to go to the hospital or call his doctor. He instead got dressed and went to work. (MEN!!)

Later in the day, my grandfathers boss called my grandmother because they noticed that he was having problems working a machine (that's he's worked at for over 40 years) and seemed confused. So my uncle went to the shop and made him go to the hospital. He of course still didn't want to go but he had no choice.

I come from a large family of faith but if you to believe in prayer, I ask that you say a little prayer for him and the doctors treating him too. He's name is Curtis Gipson. Thanks so much.

I've lost my voice and lost control!

I woke up a few days ago and my voice was very raspy. It's been fading a little each day and now I've completely lost it. It's gone. I am now communicating in a faint little whisper even though I'm actually screaming. It's really exhausting. By the time I finish yelling out my sentence then re-yelling it so the kids can piece together what I'm trying to say, I'm totally winded.

The kiddos are really taking advantage of it today too. I can't count the number of times Braden told me "I didn't hear you say not to......................" You can fill in the blank with just about anything you want and I've heard it the past few days. I can't say I've completely lost control of the house because I can still take away the tv. Turning off the tv is corporal punishment in our house.

Not having a voice may help loose a few pounds though. I really wanted to get a Diet Dr Pepper at Chick fil a today after I gassed up the car (Chick is in the Wal-Mart parking lot) but I don't have voice to order. Then on the way home from tae kwon do, Braden asked if we could eat in the car (in 5 year old language that means go to a drive thru) but once again I can't talk so that was ruled out. When we got home I really didn't want to cook since I'm not feeling well. I would have ordered a pizza but once again my waste was spared a few inches since I can't talk.

OMG!! I just realized that I could have ordered pizza online! Well, I know what's for dinner tomorrow night!

Picture Overload!

I have a hundred or two pictures waiting to be scrapped!!!! That's such a stressful thought! I'm not going to think about though. I'm going to just try to knock them out as quickly as I can and when I've finished I'm going to buy myself something nice. I've been thinking about getting a Cuttlebug. I would love to buy a Cricuit but that might a little to "nice" for my budget. Anyone have a Cuttlebug? Whatcha think about it?

I still have some PIF's to give out if anyone is interested! Read the post below. I've gathered up some acrylic stamps, buttons, and chipboard to pass along. :)

Here's the first layout I've made from the pictures from our weekend with my mom and Greg. We went to WonderWorks and this is one of the many many displays. It was fun but it was really crowded. I'm sure it didn't help that it was pouring down rain so everyone was trying to find dry places to go.

Pass It Forward

Look at what I got yesterday in the mail!!! I got a wonderful PIF from Debbie at Snickerdoodle Dreams ( http://debbiedee.blogspot.com/ ). Look at all that ribbon. My daughter has claimed a few of the blue ones for her hair. So thank you Debbie for the Cinderella Princess Ribbon. I'm sure that's exactly what you would have planned for it! hee hee hee.

Now it's my turn to pass on some fun stuff to three new gals or guys. The first three bloggers to post here will get a PIF from me. The only criteria is that you then offer three more bloggers a PIF. So I guess the other criteria is that you have a blog to offer a PIF on too.

New Furniture

I have a house full of new furniture and more ordered. I was planning of having a crop here tomorrow with some moms from Braden's school but that fell through (waaa waaa waaaa! I'm a little down in the dumps over that). I've been wanting some new furniture for the formal living room/dining room for awhile and this was a good excuse to do so.

We bought 2 brown leather club chairs, new silk drapes, and a new rod and rings. I ordered a new little bistro table for the breakfast nook from Ashley Furniture. Friday my new glass dining table and 6 chairs will be here. So I'm going to have a wonderfully decorated house by the end of the week! Too bad no one will see it. :(

Rainy Soggy Weekend!

The temperature is starting to creep into the 80's here in Florida and I'm looking forward to a cool dip in the pool. This weekend we stayed soaked but with rain NOT pool water. It rained all weekend. Normal I would just scrapped away or watched movies and enjoy the time at home but my mom and her husband were visiting. It's just not much fun running around Disney in a constant down pour.

The weekend had a few sunny highlights though. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe in the elephant room. That was fun except when my Mom's tooth broke! Yep. She was eating a turkey wrap and her tooth broke. She was lucky that it didn't hurt. She didn't complain about it at all.

We went to Hollywood Studios and saw Sorcerer Mickey. That is the first time we have seen the sorcerer Mickey. We also had pictures taken with Mater from Cars and the kids saw JoJo and Goliath. Then we nearly drown in the rain. The streets and sidewalks were all flooded. We all had to wade through to leave the park. All fun though!

Sunday we did a little outlet shopping and then we went to the Outta control Magic Show and Wonderworks Museum. Braden had the time of his life at Wonderworks. He ran through all the exhibits twice! I think his favorite was the shadow wall, the bubble room, and the hurricane simulator. My personal favorite was the bubble room. I had fun playing in there. During the Magic Show, Greg was pulled onto the stage as part of the act. That was cool! Mike and mom were both included in the show a little too.

I haven't uploaded my pictures yet but I'm sure that will be my next post!

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

ZZZZZ! I need some! Last night I stayed up late working on a scrapbook page. We are leaving for Orlando tomorrow afternoon and I like to leave the house as clean as possible. So I want to clean up my scrap mess. I finally went to bed and at 2:30am I gave up. It was one those horrible nights where I was so uncomfortable. Then I got ticked off because I was still awake, which made me tense, which made my shoulders ball up, which made me more uncomfortable,..... you've been there right?

I went back to bed at 4:30am but I really didn't feel tired then. It was totally forced sleep and not restful at all. But with all that said......(I know you're thinking "THank God!") I am in a great mood and not to tired. I do however feel the beginning of a headache creeping up on me but I'm sure the 2 Tylenol and the 2 cans of Diet Dr Pepper that I just chugged will perk me right back up. I'm sure I will crash soon and it will be a total melt down but for right now I'm doing good.

I'm sorry about wasting that minute of your life though!
